"Snakes Alive" Tubular Aujtomotiver Headers

Ed Henneman of Headers by Ed discussed header design with me some in the mid 1970s. He felt that equal length tubes were important, along with correct length and diameter for the application. His 66-7 Olds headers have all four on one side going to that collector, but with contortions to make them equal length, 36", and with the optimum collector diameter. The 1.75" tubes use a 3" collector, and the 1.875" use a 3.25" collector.
I never talked with Tubular Automotive about their design, but the tubes going across under the oil plan would seem to restrict pan design and also mandate a high front end for the car.

Way too much information and too technical.

I tried it......
http://realoldspower.prophpbb.com/to...t=180%20degree
I had the crossover tubes level with the bottom of the oil pan (Moroso 8qt & 4 speed). I woke up one morning and realized the wrong cylinders crossed. D'OH!!
I now have a set of Kooks as a start point when I decide to finish them.
