Trying to clean up the mirror housings what's the best way to remove the cable from the mirror or controller end.
70's sport mirror.

There is no way. The cables are swaged at both ends. Removal is a destructive process. Why do you need to do that? The base and housing should just slide over the joystick end.

They can be removed I have done several it takes patience mark each cable and attachment point so they go back together like they were originally. The remote will not fit through the holes in the base or housing. Remove them from the remote end not the mirror

Fred, is that a 1970 thing? I seem to recall pulling the joystick through on the 71-72 mirrors.

possible on 71-72 but 70 is different and will not pull through.
