Love those old Pontiac’s !! Any 64 - 66 Grand Prix, Bonnie or Catalina would suit me just fine !! Classy vehicles great styling and power. A 2+2 would be a great addition too.

I have owned only two Chebby's in my life. A '38 Chev 2 door sedan, '76 Monte Carlo (daily driver). The "38 was my very first car. It had worn out "knee action" suspension and ground thumping "Blue flame 6". After a couple years, I had a straight axle to replace the "knee action" front end. I transplanted an Olds 394 with Isky cam and "anti pump up" lifters, 3 X 2 intake with the big Rochester 2 GC's, 4 speed "stick hydro", 57-64 Olds/Pontiac rear end. I wish I had that one back.

My buddy Eric, years ago his dad left him his 65 Catilina 2+2 4 speed , 421 tri-power, 8 lug wheel. Still has it all in 1 piece! No rust Texas car..Maroon, black interior. WOW that's all I have to say except, I wonder what's harder to find one like this or a 4-speed 65 Starfire?

I am with so many others here. I love early Pontiac's. Probably pretty close to count my Pontiac's and my Oldsmobiles. My first car was a 69 GTO. Top was rotted. 3.73 posi. That car ran. I owned a 64 Grand Prix also. Loved that car. I would take damn near any year Grand Prix. I love 61-64 Grand Prix's.

Thanks for all your pictures. I love seeing all different types of cars. Do you any more pictures of your first picture? Wagons rule.

For me it started with the fact that my folks had some Pontiacs a 66 Catalina rag top and a 69 Catalina rag top, My first car was a 65 2 door Tempest that I kinda turned in to a GTO Clone ( back before they even used the word clone, long story) and my love of Oldsmobile's started with my Grandpa's 1957 Olds 88 2 door hard top that wound up being my dads. If some one told me I could no longer own Oldsmobile's or had to give up my dream of a 34-39 fat fendered something I would start searching the Pontiac classifieds for a 64-66 Pontiac. (love them)

Speaking of Pontiacs. My brother got his 61 Catalina to the track for the first time. I was very impressed. First time out and at Colorado altitude.

'63 Tempest, 70 Firebird and 75 T/A with am radio, no AC, 4spd car. The 70 Firebird 350/350 would have given the T/A a run for it's money and possibly win straightline but the T/A's handling was superb for its time.

I liked the Pontiacs but if I could only have one it would be an Olds.

I have owned many Pontiac's. My 64 Grand Prix was one of my favorites. I really love the trunk lines on the 61-63's. Nice car you have by the way love it. Funny how similar your car looks next to my brothers. I love the look of your car. The pie pans are so perfect.

That's what I said. 3700 lbs with him in it. This car was built so crazy perfect. Zero corners cut. Even has a rear seat. He bought it as a full drag car. He hates a loud car. He put mufflers and full exhaust on it. Huge props to the guy that built it. 568 CID... 🤫My brother is such the perfect buyer for it. Super impressive first time out thru full exhaust at altitude. He is the best smartest mechanic ever. Always came naturally to him. To see him running that strong is awesome.

That is Super Cool. What cool years to work there. Pontiac's ruled the dragstrips in the sixties more than most know.

that 66 has the starchief spears on the 1/4's which is it starchief, starchief executive or executive.looks like it says executive on the front fender.and love the old school rear window blinds,my mom;s 65 catalina had one of those.i always thought they were super cool.one thing i have been looking for is my dad had the things to put on the seats to keep your back from sweating, they were kindof a coiled wire thing with breathable outer shell.i have a car with leather seats and would love to find an old set of those things.

Did Pontiac produce police packages? Any legendary ones in particular?

They did produce police package , IDK about anybody famous other than Buford T Justice of Texas though.. Our Chief had 14" wheels with full covers and I changed it to 15x7's and dog dish for a sorta like a military base car or highway or detective look ..

Careful folks, the Admin is about to remind us this is an Oldsmobile site…lol..early 60’s pontiacs ruled the drag strips..no doubt, mid 60’s were every bit as quick as anything the big 3 put out as well.. Love the Pontiac Oldsmobile cars…both elegant, fast, well built..

69 right? Is that top factory?
One of our neighbors had a clean 68 Le Mans when I was a kid. Buckets console three speed manual. All blue car. One of my friends bought it.
When I owned my 69 GTO my brother had a 68 GTO and a 65 Tempest four speed car. My cousin two doors down had a 69 Judge. Our corner always looked like a dealer overflow lot. Seven kids in our family. Cousins lived two doors over. Four of them. Great times.

Thats amazing neighborhood.. yeah 69 and best I can tell it was a factory half vinyl top has oem trim across but the old lady 1st owner had the car painted blue with light blue top in 1980 it was gold with black top off the showroom .. My very first car was a while 68 Lemans white coupe 350 4 speed w red buckets and cragars. My second car was a turquoise on turquoise buckets 68 lemans 350 auto w console and rally wheels and later on a 68 GTO I bought that was wrecked in front and swapped frame and front clip and drove and raced for a while.. those are all gone now
