Pics of car show in Jesenwang/Germany

I attended the first car show with my 66 Cutlass yesterday, and thought I'd share some pics.
There were around 400 cars, I didn't even know which one I should photograph first!
It was also for old planes and bikes!
I've seen 5 Oldsmobiles including mine, whereas for example a Mustang is a dime a thousand even here in Germany. I guess I've seen 30 or so...

I wanted to have the big pictures in my thread, so that you don't have to click on them, but I couldn't find out how to do that...any help will be greatly appreciated

hey Dancutlass, I was wondering how common the classic VW's are in Germany. Are they really cheap to buy and restore since VW is German? Do people like to restore them or are they not too desireable. The reason I am asking is because I have been looking into buying a Westfalia Camper or Double Cab truck and I'm suprised at how expensive they are here in the states.

on topic: cars look great. I love that GT40.

Hey, they are still around, but the prices are rising steadily! I don't know how expensive they are in the states, but in my opinion they are very expensive here in Germany, too! Bugs, the T1 and T2 bus are a very desirable restoration object...What exactly are you looking for? T1 or T2, which condition...I could look if I find something for you and tell you how the going rates are for it!
I'd love to have a T1 with a Porsche engine one day

Thanks! Yes it was great, I guess it was one of the most valuable cars there!

I'm one of those guys who wants one of everything. I'm 24 and just moved to a new area and don't know many people so my car hobby has become bigger and bigger to occupy my time. I don't know much about VWs. I live by the beach though and the campers and trucks are used as surf-mobiles and are at a premium price here in San Diego County. It would be nice to pull an oldschool VW camper up to the beach and have a little bbq!

The trucks rarely go on sale here and project VW trucks go for more than 10k and need a lot of work. The campers fluctuate big time on price depending on the year but the trucks are always super expensive to get into.

It sure would be cool to have one where you live I bet you get to know some people because of your car hobby!
I know exactly what you mean! I just turned 21 and I already search which car I want to buy next

Actually restored VW vanagons are imported from the US to Germany...but there are some projects around here! Maybe you want to look yourself at www.mobile.de for example! Let me know if I can help you!

Thank you Eddie, if you mean the beige 65 Catalina, it belongs to a friend who had owned a 67 Delmont 88 before, and I love it, too. Especially the fastback roofline! It's the only non-Oldsmobile I would buy!

Sure the poncho, haven't even thought you could mean mine

Yes, definitely, my father is into exotics. He had a 2004 Murcielago for many years but gave it up recently. We had gone to the dealerships to look into getting a Ferrari California but after all that searching he ended up with a 1959 corvette! His reasoning is that he just cruises and doesn't go too fast anymore plus believe it or not the classic cars turn more heads and get attention! I'll post some pics of the Corvette soon. It's being shipped from Texas right now.

Moving to San Diego was probably the best decision I have made. The weather is consistently beautiful as are the girls!

@dancutlass

That's interesting that they import campers from usa to germany. They have cruises of just VW's campers and vans throughout the summer and I have been getting more and more interested in it. Their are also cruise nights of just Woody Wagons which are really cool and unique to this area.

I loved SD when we were there. I told my wife that if we hit Lotto I am buying something in La Jolla. She thought it was crazy when I stopped the rent a car in front of something like Crand Sport Classics or Grand Prix Classics & my son & I were staring thru the window looking at the classic race cars they were selling.

Wow hearing about the cars your Dad has/had, it doesn't sound like you're on a tiny budget Stood beneath a Murcielago at a redlight one day I couldn't even hear my own word!

Yes maybe the restoration is cheaper or something like that...
Sounds cool! Driving to the beach in the VW, having a barbecue watching some girls play beach volleyball...oh yeah

Thank you Tedd,
You're right it's a Fiat 500! It looked so funny, I couldn't imagine that it was able to pull that trailer with it's 24 HP
Yes it does, we didn't have any classes, and there were no awards that could be won...I'm already looking forward to visiting some car shows in the states on my next trip

So sorry to hear about your dog Tedd
Regards Dan
