Oldcutlass wins a best in class

Yes, I know, I forgot the camera! Someone forgot to remind me, I'm not going to mention any names!

Went out to Stephenville for their 4th of July Celebration. Had a great time, even met another member, unfortunately without his car, sigh! My funny looking Chevelle won the 60's modified class.

The thing I always liked about this show is the group that puts it on does the judging, no politics, no voting for friends, solely on the merits of the car!

I hope everyone had fun and safe holiday!

Well congratulations! That's wonderful!! I also appreciate the judging when it is like you described. That's how it should be.

Congrats on the win!! I didn't post 3 weeks ago when mine won the 68-73 modified class in one of our local shows. Why? Because I forgot the camera also. It sure is nice to win over a couple of (which I thought) really nice Chevelles with all the chrome etc. Judges, people and entries voted. I never expected it and almost didn't even go to the awards! Congrats again, and it's great to see Oldsmobiles win! Even the one that wins all the time! Maybe thats that green One?????? Nice car Sandy.

Did the judges even clue into it having a Chubby engine and not an Olds? lol! I love car show's these days, people are so clueless about anything other than Chubby or Fored. That's why I painted my engine gold...because those that know just enough will think it's a 350 because "the valve covers aren't wide like a big block"

Congrats anyway! I wish I could've spent my 4th at a car show, instead the car show is in the garage all torn apart

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR CAMERA Holy meritorious trophy stack Batman you gonna have to tie a string round your finger or something that will remind you on your own

Sorry man, July 4th wasn't my day to remind you. I distinctly remember looking and seeing I had the day off

Congrats on the win!

Congrats on the hardware!

I put the 67 in it's first ever show on the 4th, I'm not real sure I will ever do it again. Lots of sitting and sweating and worrying about little kids jerking on my doors and scratching the new paint.

AHpilot the nice part about this show is it was judged by car guys, they knew what was in there. Hence, it was registered as a 1960's modified (it is heavily, but tastefully, modified) vs original. Can't say that about the spec-taters. Lots of the usual Rocket, Four-fourty-2, etc...comments!

It's your fault Allan, I remembered the camera for the Granbury show and posted some pic's. But, the ball was dropped for this one!

I don't worry about the tiny finger prints from the kids, as my car is a daily driver. Most people have some etiquette at the local shows.

It was a last minute thing, grabbed the cooler, jumped in the car, got half way there, slapped forehead! I think I have CRS! Can't remember stuff!

Umm, yeah ok. Up here we call it CRAFT disease. Can't Remember A Friggin Thing. You need to put a carbiner on the camera strap and hook it to your cooler. OR, put a sticky note on your steering wheel with a reminder like: 'Slap yourself NOW before you forget the camera!!'

Congrats! I wish my car was show worthy, just for the experience. Hell, I wish it was drivable for the 4th! Still need that radiator, but priorities, you know...

Anyway, love that car of yours!
