My LEAST favorite music EVER....
After they got done with the "reading of the names", they played my LEAST favorite music EVER..... It has no words, always chokes me up, and I absolutely hate hearing it played....
TAPS.
For the 19th straight year on September 11th, I am man enough to admit I shed some more tears......
"Yesterday, December 7th, 1941.... A day that will live in infamy."... And September 11th, 2001 have to be the darkest days in United States history....
God Bless us all... To a better tomorrow..... Let's keep America Great !!!!!

Same here, my only hope is that this feeling although sad lives on with future generations. The day its lost so is our country.
On a personal note, bagpipes playing at a funeral also bring a tear or 2.

Back when I was a mere child, one of my Christmas gifts from Santa was a "Little Golden Trumpet". Naturally the first thing learned to play was Taps. My grandmother finally had enough because my uncle, Dads brother, was a WWII B17 copilot and was shot down over Germany. When they had his funeral naturally they played Taps and it would really upset her every time she heard it. My dad took my trumpet away until we went home after Christmas.

Amazing Grace can sure be a tear-jerker, but at least it is a beautiful song if sung correctly.
It is a great song for a memorial....
For me, TAPS, just means Death.....
But, I am with you... Both are still clearly on the somber side, for sure.....
