Same here, do you plan to restore the car? Best wishes either way.

This almost has to be someone local or very very close by to sit and wait for you to leave so they could steal the car. Please post a lookout list of the parts when you get a chance. Maybe the idiots will try and sell on craigslist or car show etc,

People are ****. Even when you think you know them. I am going to try to register my cars elsewhere from where they live, not put real addresses down on anything related to them, and drive home looking for tails when I get close.

They didn't want the car, they wanted the built mill.

Any cameras around the area it was stripped? I think you should send pictures of the motor and anything pertinent to the Oldsmobile clubs across America , anything odd that may make it obvious the parts came from your car. I would bet you took many pictures of parts of your pride and joy. Send a "look for this " to all Oldsmobile club leaders. Someone who stole your car did it because they don't have the tallent or funds to accomplish what you did. They will want to show it off as theirs just as you lost it to take credit. Carma is a bitch and they have some bad carma in waiting for them. Post pictures only for the club top officials so they don't see them on here. Alert Border patrols with pictures too in case it's going over seas.

My Brother was racing on the weekend so he asked me to get parts off a 67 W-30 that went into a Pick Your Part in Hayward, Ca. many years ago. When I got there all W-30 parts were off but the engine and 400 trans were still there. I do know who got and still has the parts maybe he might let them go. Yes he has the air cleaner and red wells and scoops. What number was yours. The air cleaners has numbers.
Sorry for your loss. Its always someone close that was watching your car.
Gerald

I have some tricks up my sleeve.

A. Never share your security setup.
B. Security cameras
C. Vacations are a secret. Loose lips sink ships.
D. Kill switches in secret locations
E. They have cameras now that look like a screw on the light switch. Link that with a 30 day recording storage and you get your lowlife on camera. Next thing he knows he's meeting bubba who thinks he's his bitch. You may loose zero sleep over it but he wont😉

I have more but won't share. Do what you can to fight these thugs. Most security is not as expensive as you think. Invest in a good security company and enjoy seeing the a holes convicted.

protect yourself!

security is for the "it won't happen to me guys". A company in St.Louis called DKstuf cctv has some interesting options. I'm sure there are shops everywhere that have this stuf. They have cameras that look like a screw, motion detector, clock as well as other options and capability to store a months worth of recording. If you dump tons of money in your dream car dump money in equipment to see the A hole who steals it gets LAID in jail for his trouble. 😉

I'd also invest in good locks and other obstacles and firearms, and enjoy seeing them bleed out on my garage floor. "You see that stain there? That was from the last guy that tried to steal this."

You are usually (state laws vary) totally within your right to blast anyone who has broken into your occupied home as you reasonably fear for your life. Unfortunately, I do not think this extends to separate garages,
in that situation, you point your weapon at him, and let him have it once he acts aggressively, because you were then in reasonable fear for your life. If he turns and runs, do not plug him in the buttocks, tempting as it may be.

No need to shoot the misguided, keep em,train em.
Your very own auto reconditioner,a lil duct tape, and chains.
Brings a whole new meaning to "will work for food" dont ya think?
After a month of bread and water,if you're that generous.
you then drag their weak malnourished body into the kitchen, open the fridge door, and lay an arm inside.Call the police and tell them you found a poor soul breaking into your home looking for food, and that he looks as if he hasn't eaten in months.

Wow. This is all of our worst fear. My wife used to suggest we take a car for a drive and go for dinner etc but if I cant see it where its parked I wont bother. There's a video I saw on you-tube that showed how quickly a garage overhead door can be broken into. It takes these scum bags less than 30 seconds. They pry the top of the door in then reach in with a stick with a hook to pull the release. I take that out of the equation with a pad lock but recently I added an alarm which we have monitored. Glad to hear you got the car back albeit stripped. That must have been a tough one seeing it in that condition. Only wish it fell on one of them and pinned him under the car so you could offer a little punishment or better yet he died a slow death.

Saturday a 1980 Malibu race car was taken from a garage in Toledo. The thieves shot out some cameras but they didn't get all of them. Hopefully the video will help catch these bastards.

Get this story on the local news.....someone has got to know where and who this is. Post a reward for information- in the news report. Sooner the better! This car can not be towed across the border into Canada without customs demanding proof of ownership. But the news for sure coupled with a hefty reward for its recovery is your best armament you have going for you right now. News paper too.!

These scumbags were SO IGNORANT !
They hacked the he!! out of the dash , when these cars are so easy to "hotwire" .
You don't have to go near the ignition switch to make it run .
I hope the scumbags get caught , and do time !

Another simple theft deterrent would be to park several cars in front of the garage doors. If they have to drag a few cars out of the way it's not a quick steal so they might not bother. Just a thought.

I installed simplisafe alarm system today. It came with 6 opening sensors, home base, key pad, 2 motion sensors, siren, key fob and camera for $299 shipped. Easy wireless install with choice of monitoring for a fee or not.

That really sucks my heart goes out to you !

My Wife bought me a GPS tracker for my Cutlass, but I'm also going to put an engine kill switch into mine as advised ! Hope they find your car and the scum bags that stole it ! Some one should also design a lock that could go through the rim so that the wheel can't rotate !

Tire Rim lock.

LOL Charlie, read the post again. " Through the Rim so the wheel will not rotate " Or maybe I should be more succinct, A lock the would go through the Tire Rim so that the wheel could not rotate. Not the Steering wheel.
