Moving from 2711 to 7111

I tired of waiting for Edelbrock to make my manifold (2711) on backorder for a month now, so I told my supplier to switch the order to 7111 which he says he has ON THE SHELF dudes! I made most of this forum happier now, which was not my intent but IS a nice side effect. Since my engine is not stock, the 7111 will work fine though I still believe it is overkill without a lot of the other internal goodies that make high revving hp. I still like torque for my choice over rpm. Remember they used to actually name manifolds "Torquer"? Yes it dates me...and yes in those years the parts stores would have one on the shelf and not play this price-setting shell game they play today. I get it! I also used to have a 25 foot coily cord on my phone, which acted like an extension, or even better... remote!

My question now is do I still use the tray intake manifold gasket with the 7111 or ????

From the installation instructions:
• GASKETS AND SEALANT 1. Use only Fel-Pro Valley Pan gasket #MS96027 or OEM equivalent when installing Edelbrock manifolds for street applications. 3. Eliminate the end seal gaskets. Use RTV Silicone sealant instead. Apply a bead of sealant approximately 1/4" high across the block end seal surface, overlapping the intake gasket at the four corners. This method eliminates end seal slippage and deterioration.

Those SCE gaskets Benard offers are good quality. I have used those and the Turkey tray with success with the RPM.
