I have owned a number of stage 1 70 models, one 71 stage 1, and 2 GSxs. Who built the engine? Just like Olds, saying they were professionally built has to be taken with a grain of salt. That appears to be same color used on 72 regional promo cars.

The issue is the lip of passenger side inner fender and part of the core support sit under the battery tray. They tend to rust away at this location. There are patch panels available. I have never seen a frame cracked due to this.

I owned a Silvermist 70 stage 1. In today's Buick world this is a very popular 70 color. Back then, most were built with shades of brown like Burnished Saddle and Dessert Gold. I owned a 70 GS455 convertible 4 speed in the former and a 70 stage one hard top in the latter color. They are not so popular today.
I have owned 70 Buicks for a long time. I am unfamiliar with that engine shop. I would say that this is not a dedicated Buick engine shop. (All dedicated Buick shops would know that a Buick dip stick handle was never painted red) This does not mean that they do not do good work. See, if you can get a copy of the engine build sheet.

You would need to see this car in person to really judge the condition of the body.
On the other hand It is hard to find a 70 GS455 priced under 10k that is not a complete basket case.
Check the oil pressure at idle when the engine is warm. Check how high it reads at cruise rpms. The Buick 455 will read very low at idle once warm if the critical clearances were not observed during the rebuild. These engines are very expensive to quality rebuild given the price of Buick parts and the shortage of dedicated Buick only engine rebuilders.

Looks like a fun ride. It may take some time and additional cash to bring it to your specific standard, but in the end it would be a ride that I'd be proud to display in my garage. No air conditioning in Tucson....woof!

Never really bothered me not having A C in Tucson,
I don’t drive them in that kind of heat.
I love the fact that it is AC delete!
less crap!

In my top 5 fav muscle cars...Stump pullers!
Back in 82-83 a Bud had a 20K mile 72 V code Stage 1. Sliver black top white bucket interior...loaded AC buzz windows... grandma car he stole off an estate for 3500!. It would pull the front wheels enough to see daylight with his 270 lb azz in it. Car still exists and we know who owns it. We knew it was special even back then.
That cowl tag is mysteriously missing a 0 after the 7.

Thanks for the advice, just sharing not asking if it's a good deal or not.
Done this may many many times and only came upside down once because the smuck lied about a matching numbers mopar i bought. never buy anything from mopar6930 on ebay he is an evil sob in cali.
Decent deal as far as i'm concerned, these days you are not getting crap for 10k maybe a shell.
Especially something that runs and drives. Alittle paint /body few odds and ends this thing will be nicer than most cars at a cruise night.
not looking for a show piece to stare at in the garage or trailer, making what it was made for "To drive and drive hard!"
cheers!

If the car is as solid as it looks ~13K all day.
Spotless desert iron, matching drive train, in need of 5K in shiny details...a lot more.
68-72 even 73 GS have similar pricing as a 442 in similar condition, more to a diehard Buick fan(same as an Olds fan). Obviously Stage 1, stick shift, and buckets add more.
Code 14 silver is nice. Nice find. Id go for it if the $$ and condition is right. The typo on the tag isn't uncommon for the era.
Any paperwork with it?
