I am in shock! Walter & Lennertz Oldsmobile, Merillville, IN, was my dealer back in the day. TK-65, do you any other Walter & Lennertz pics or materials you might share?

That Ralph Olds is where I bought my '88 Ciera.....when Olds was gone, it became a Hummer Dealer, then after that, which I still believe it is now, a Land Rover dealer.

Any idea where that 2nd shot is from? That one looks so familiar I think I know it. There's an old Olds dealer in NY that still has a bench outside with an Oldsmobile logo on it! I plan on asking about it next time I'm in the area.

I'm pretty sure that's in NY, Rhinebeck...I think the sign is gone now......my buddy took a pic of his '64 442 in front of it.....I'll see if I can find it. I would put the link to the pics here, but don't know how from an IPad yet....the pics are located in the Vista Cruiser and Wagons section. "Shows us pics of your flattop wagon" thread....I bumped it to the top to find it easier!

Yep, Rhinebeck is the one I'm thinking of! I couldn't find the post you mentioned so post the link here if you can. They have a nice show at the faigrounds there in the spring. Hoping to make it this year.

I think the dealer is Subaru now...so sad

Found it! I had to shrink it a little to make it fit because the file was too large to attach but this is the pic and yep, that's the dealership!

No that building is long gone. I'm not sure when they tore it down, I think maybe early 70s?? Currently the General Motors Cadillac Grand River Assembly Plant is there.

Check out this video posted by Hurstlightining84 (Ryan) go about the 30 second mark and you will see both buildings standing at the same time!
Watch entire video for some nice shots of the main plant and the administration building!

What a cool video! Too bad there's no audio because there's probably some good narration of the city and Oldsmobile. So cool to see all the classic Olds' just driving around on a regular day back then..and the Toro's without front clips headed for final assembly (I'm imagining, right?). You have to wonder what happened to all of the Olds memorobilia from the headquarters....like, what happened to that giant Olds rocket on the side of the building? Who wouldn't love to have that proudly displayed on the outside of their garage!

Thanks for posting!

Cool video. So the old building was due south of the new building?
