Here she is. My 1966 f85 holiday coupe deluxe
I just picked my new baby up Saturday from NJ. I drove her straight 120 miles with no problems or issues. This car is a one owner 72000 mile original beauty. She still wears all her original paint which is presentable. I planned on adding some upgrades such as buckets, console, SS1's but I have decided to leave her be. This car is perfect and these cars are hard to come by in this condition. I have learned to appreciate it for what it is and enjoy her for the originality she maintains. That is the way she rolled off the line and thats the way she will stay. She really is a wonderful cruiser and runs perfect. The original AM and all the gauges still work perfect and mechanically she is nothing shy of perfect. Did I mention this baby is rust free and has been garaged its whole life by the original owner. This is a true keeper and will remain in my family, just wanted to share her with my Oldsmobile brothers and sisters. Please let me know what you folks think.

I must add, this car is like driving in a time machine. I never felt this in my 69 442 as I had restored the car over 3 years. I also never felt this attached like I do with the 66. Maybe since I bought from the original owner and know all the history of car and funny stories. Also service records since the 70's, invoice, window sticker, protecto plate and other various paper work. Almost make me feel like I am actually buying it in 1966. True story of a man and his love for his car. Except no prenup, no divorce and no alimony. hahaha (I must say I am happily married to my first and only wife)

KPL70SX- I must say you hit the nail on the head. I have owned many cars including over 6 different a body olds, but this one has almost just instantly bonded with me. Maybe the fast that she was loved after by the previous owner I mean he would put a cover on her when he went to families homes for the holidays. Very **** about his car and I wrote him a nice letter today thanking him for giving me the opportunity to enjoy her and pass her on to my son. But you nailed it, My smile hurts bad I think I need to be bitched slapped to get this grin off my face, no wait one more night. haha

That's a great car! I like the idea of you keeping the way it came. And '66 is my favorite year, probably because it was a '66 F-85 deluxe my parents had when I first got my driver's license!

[QUOTE=OLD SKL 69;309888]Thanks Cutlasslegend! Here's a larger picture I took at the GM Carlisle show this year:
Beautiful Supreme. I love that body style it is almost like a cross between the square 64-67 and the round 68-72. Wonderful color, dark green, sporty yet classy. Hope to see you at Carlisle.

Thanks. They are Wheel Vintique 15x7 front and 15x8 in the rear. Chrome with black paint. You can get the part number from Wheel Vintique and call Summit and get them cheaper through them. They are a nice quality wheel.

I want to say thanks for everyone that responded to this thread. I appreciate your comments and pointers. I hope everyone the bet and with our perserverance we are keeping the Oldsmobile name alive and well. Maybe someday GM will reopen Oldsmobile and introdce the all new 442. I will take an equity line on my home to buy that car.

Man this car is begging me to put in a 4 speed. What you boys think. The servo cover on the Jetaway is stamped 67 instead of 66 so I am thinking either the tranny was replaced or servo cover at some time. I thought it was numbers matching but the servo cover has me freaked out now. I think I can use this excuse to justify the 4 speed conversion. haha. I will contact the original owner and find out if the tranny was replaced sometime in its past.

Beautiful car ! Congrats !!
I'm not sure about '66s, but on my '68 the VIN derivative was stamped on the Jetaway on a pad on the left side just aft of the gear selector stud...
