Head and leg room: 1967 Cutlass vs 1968 Cutlass
I'm considering buying a '66 or '67 Cutlass. My '68 is a bit of a tight squeeze. I'm 6'5". Do the square-body cars have any more leg room and head room then the '68s and up?

I’m 6’1, I’m comfortable with the front seat all the way back. I know brackets were available from GM when these cars were new that allowed the seats to bolt in further back than normal. Of course that makes the backseat passengers even more cramped. I have plenty of headroom, when I’m st the track my helmet does rub the headliner.

You can get adapter brackets from most of the aftermarket places.
Year One has these. I bought these for my '68 - I'm 6'4". They work well.
This is my first attempt at uploading a pic WITH a LINK - fingers crossed...

There's an old trick with the A-body bucket seats for increasing headroom and backrest rake. Tilt the seatback forward and note the oval black seat back bumpers. You can cut these down or remove them completely. This will allow the seatback to angle backwards a little more, increasing headroom.
The problem comes if you have T-rex arms...

I have no issue, being a 6'4" man with 30 inch inseam and "tall" coat size (so I'm mostly backbone) sitting in either a 72 A body hardtop, or a 67 A body hardtop, nor do I have legroom issues. Granted, I have very little headroom, but it is enough.
I drove a 72 convertible this weekend with power bucket, and felt very high up, and the owner said the power bucket sits higher than the manual bucket?
