Got my son interested today!
I have a 13 year old son and have been trying to get him more involved with the car. He loves riding in it but never really wanted to help.
This weekend I changed the battery cables and got him to help. He really enjoyed it. He got all greasy and had a good time. Now he wants to know whats next.
I have alot more projects I'm thinking about.
On the plus side small limber 13 yearold hands fit in alot of places that my larger 43 year old hands don't.

I am always happy to see the young generation get into the old car hobby.
It is a great father and son bonding project and he will appreciate the rides more, knowing he contributed. If he does not like greasy hands, get him some rubber gloves (I use em...)
It can also help teach him how to care for his own car when that time comes. Knowing very basic things like 'why change the oil', and 'what does the coolant' will help prepare him for future vehicle ownership. (In fact those questions should be on driver license tests...)
