Does anyone know if this molding could belong to my '72 Vista Cruiser?

It came with a bunch of loose moldings when I bought my wagon, but I can't figure out where it actually might go? Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks, Tom

That doesn't look familiar. I parted a 71 vista earlier this year. Maybe someone who currently has a vista can give you a better idea.

I think you're right and that part just slipped into the box off another car. To me, it looks like something that would go on the front edge of an engine hood. Too bad I might never find out and some other classic car guy might need it.

I had my trim polished; I remember each piece because I handled them so many times.

That trim piece doesn't look like anything from a 1970 Vista.

I think you guys are right. Too bad. Some car is missing this piece and it's in good shape. Thanks for the responses...

That's a good idea. It has to be something that is facing forward or backwards, with that curved shape and fairly thick cross section. Maybe a little too curved for the top of the tail gate?...

Smile

It wouldn't be from the top of the tailgate or any place on a car where loads are carried because it is not covered with dents.

I've been through that a few times trying to get undented trim.

For me it's from backing up with the tailgate open and hitting something :-)

Here's another picture that shows the cross-section of the molding...
