Death Race (Movie)- Official Website

Classic Car Lovers,

Dodge lovers,

Universal Pictures will be releasing an action pack movie called Death Race on August 22, 2008. Death Race is about an Ex-con Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) is forced by the warden of a notorious prison to compete in the post-industrial world's most popular sport: a car race in which inmates must brutalize and kill one another on the road to victory.

This movie features a few classic cars such as the 1972 Boattail Riviera and the1978 Trans-Am, all bulked up with weapons and ready to battle and race with other vehicles.

Here is the official website where you can customize your own vehicle.

hmm, direct marketing in the year 2008. nice touch you need to do a little more research about your target demographic.

Sounds like another movie that trashes lots of classic cars. Sorry, but I refuse to spend a dime to watch that, whether the movie is any good or (as in the case here) not.

Not even worth a BL or DL, either...

Seems like it might be Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome... again! That was a lame movie. I didn't like seeing the dude in buttless chaps, and Tina Turner with a huge fro'. The first two Mad Max movies were good though...

At least Death Race 2000 (from 1975) had David Carridine and Sly Stallone.

The original stallone "Death Race 2000" was a race where you collected points for running down pedestrians. Inmates killing each other must be more politically correct these days.

I recall seeing the Stallone Death Race movie sometime ago. I can't remember much of it.

It was lame and a shame that a Carradine had to lower himself to do a movie like that, not surprised that Sly was in it though......look at that "Judge" movie he did.

Judge Dredd? That was one of his sci-fi movies, along with Demolition Man.

Possibly the GREATEST movie of all time. Sandra Bullock and a 442. What else do you need?

(OK, that's only partly tongue in cheek)

I like the part in Demolition Man when he eats the Ratburger.

Not as well as I like the part when they drive the 442 though.

I can`t stand to watch these movies that destroy old cars when there are so many newer cars out there that can be bought cheap. I think they put old cars in them just to attract car guys.

Yeah, I think you are right. It is a bummer to see old cars get busted up.
