Ok - VIN not typed correctly.
She thinks it's FWD.
Not the most revealing pix I suppose & she doesn't say a whole lot.
(get your mind out of the gutter)
But all in all not the worst ad I have ever seen on CL ......
But she's doing better than most on there.
Am I missing something else ?.

The VIN and FWD were the things that caught my attention, and for a while I wasn't even convinced it was a Cutlass...Silly me, I didn't even know they came in a body like this.

Big deal. 90% of car owners neither know nor care which end of their car has the drive wheels. Most never even lift the hood, which is why you see ads for older cars with a "V6" when we know the car only came with an I6. The general public is not car-knowledgeable. All the more reason to try to get a deal from one of these people.

Yes, it's a Lincoln. Apparently the seller is too lazy or stupid to read the emblem on the side of the car.

Sometimes the former, usually the latter. People really are clueless. All they know or care about on their car is where to put the key and where to put the gas. There's an ad on the D.C. Craigslist today for an "Oldsmobile Town Car".

I have placed bids on cars listed at E Bay, CoParts and IAAI, and they always sale for way to much money, where as buying a car from someone selling on Craigslist is just much easier on the pocket book. These sellers tend to be less informed about there vehicles and less inclined to deal with the responses they receive from the average Craigslist shopper.

Jackie,
True. But this is when time and patience weighs in.
Sometimes I find the car that is priced below it's fair market value and I have to leap before anyone else does. I actually hate these situations due to the stress of having to jump so quickly. These cars are almost always located hours away.
Sometimes I find a car that is priced just a little to high and I have to go see the car in order to get a feel for the seller. Occasionally I can politely ask the expert seller (they're all experts, just live with it, LOL ) what it would cost to make his car a nice daily driver and as they answer my questions about where I need to take it to get it painted and where to go to get parts they slowly come to the realization that they priced the car to high. There are times when I actually talk myself through the process as I look the car over so the seller understands what I am thinking. And sometimes... I just politely leave a standing offer and walk away.
Sometimes when I see a car that is priced way to high and I wait a week or two(or longer). If they don't get any calls I then become the only game in town. If they did received numerous calls they have usually already been educated on the true value of their car and are more willing to come down on the price.
And no...I don't get every car I go look at. My low budget and strict adherence to the 1966-72 Cutlass line makes it that much harder for me to locate good cars at affordable prices. When the seller says "you don't see these cars everyday", well... he's right!

I like the car, but you could really play the add poster
"Wait, it's not FWD? Oh man, IDK if I want to buy this now"
or
"You said it's FWD, it's not. I'm not too sure about this one for $2600"

You can get some of your best deals from uninformed sellers. The guy I got my 68 W-30 from had no clue what it was. Granted it was 30 years ago, but I paid $800 for that car.
