Clutch Fans for Old Olds

I have added AC to my 57 J-2 Olds and I need a little more low speed cooling. I have the stock 19 inch 4 blade fan and a refreshed radiator. My water pump pulley is3 3/4 from the radiator. Will the Hayden 2947 work and with what fan? Will noise be a problem? Or should I add a pair of 10 inch electric pushers?

Try a 6 blade fan before you go electric simple and easy also a shroud would help.

In 1957 with factory A/C Oldsmobile used a 6 blade fan (part number 569686), no clutch, and a shroud (part number 570694). My '55 with factory A/C and a similar cooling arrangement has no problem staying cool.

GREAT NEWS.Thank you both. Anybody got a 570694 shroud and the fan to sell me. Figure 14.20 may show a glimpse of a shroud but I did not know there was a factory one. I just don't want a plastic one or one I might make out of a furnace. I had been watching a 57 2 dr ht in a junk yard and noticed it had been moved. I stopped to ask about the dash vents if it was an AC car and the guy proudly showed me how he had sawzalled out 1/2 the dash and that I could buy the parts for $350. As it had been a complete car I became violently ill and haven't gone back. I did not say anything bad so I guess I can go back and inquire after a shroud. One off a 58 would probably fit too. Pat

Yeah find a factory shroud. My '57 88 4bbl had one with no A/C. Try Clay Tober model year advisor NAOC and OCA (I think). His contact info is easy to find.
