Do it yourself
I had worked at a GM Dealership for many years. Rebuilding a booster is much easier than you think. You can rebuild it when the booster is installed in the vehicle.
What fails is the diaphragm. No special tools needed.
remove and relocate the master cylinder, next you will see if look at the inner part of the booster (2 pieces), the rear shell is crimped to the front. Get a flat screwdriver and bend back all the crimps, usually 5-6. Go inside the car and disconnect the brake pedal arm from the booster rod. Once that is done you can gently pry off the outer shell leaving the inner installed on the car. Look closely at the outer edges of the diaphragm, it usually tears near that area.
Replace the diaphragm, place the outer shell into the inner shell, don't crimp anything yet, reconnect the rod. Connect the booster vacuum hose, stat the car - you will see the booster get drawn into the rear shell. At this point use a small blunt tool - I like to use a long flat ended punch and start crimping/bending the tabs.
This is assuming the diagram is torn, in all the years I have down scores of boosters, never did I see anything else fail.
