Assembly and disassembly

Assembly and disassembly
I bought a fisher body book thinking it would show me how every part comes off and more important, goes back on. I am looking for something for my car. The fenders, the upholstery, headliner, everything. Is there anything like that out there?
BTW, 69 Olds Cutlass Supreme.
Thanks in advance.

The Chassis Service Manual will also help. That's the one I use the most. You can download it for free on wildaboutcars.com or here's a hardcopy for sale on ebay. John

Chassis Manual, Body Manual, Assembly Manual, Parts Interchange Manual (questionable on that last one.)
A good book on the quadrajet, the turbohydromatic trans, and maybe a radio repair manual is good, too.

I've discovered that the Fisher body service manual speaks more towards generalities rather than specifics since it covers all the GM body models and types for the given year. It provides a "general" sort of description but, as the reader, you have to interpret what the manual says as to how it applies to your model/body type.
The Chassis Service Manual, as well as the assembly manual, are a great combination. Those two publications will tell you a whole lot about your car.

There is no one book that tells you how to completely disassemble and reassemble the car. First, GM only cared about building them on the assembly line the first time. The Assembly Manual has copies of the factory engineering drawings, but not the associated process for assembly. The Chassis Service Manual and Fisher Body Manual are intended for servicing an assembled car, not complete disassembly and reassembly. At some point, you need to use some experience and common sense to fill in the blanks.
