Are you planning on keeping the stock 307? Are you leaving the rear gearing or swapping that as well? Your 307's crank is probably not drilled for the pilot bushing. There is a conversion bearing that requires minor drilling. There is an option like a Saginaw, Munchie or T-10 4 spd. The only cheap one of those 3 is the Saginaw which will only survive behind your 307, nothing much more powerful. There is also the Camaro T-5, if you want Overdrive. You want the V8 except maybe the 4 gen camaro V6 trans. You also need an BOP bellhousing. Some up to the mid 70's had the Ford Toploader pattern, another option. That TL pattern, two holes line up on the 4 gen camaro T-5 pattern. Then there is the issue of clearing your bench seat with the shifter.

These cars were never offered with a manual trans. I don't even think there are pedal assemblies that bolt in. Expect to do a lot of fabrication. There is at least one vendor selling an aftermarket T56 conversion kit for the 94-96 Impala SS. You MIGHT be able to use the pedals from that, but the kit is $2400. I don't know if they sell the pedals separately. Failing that, you'll need to adapt aftermarket street rod pedals. Expect to use a hydraulic clutch. And of course there's the problem that the 307 crank is probably not drilled to accept a pilot bearing.
