#7A heads vs #5 heads

About 3 years ago I bought a 69 cutlass 2dr hard top to restore. I stuck it in the barn. I then found a 69 convertible about 80% done for a good price. So now I'm looking to sell the hardtop (or maybe not) I was looking it over today and noticed that it has 7A stamped on the heads. I thought all 69 s had #5 heads. The block number is a 68 69 70 series. It's a 350 4 bbl with MT valve covers and headers. What are 7a heads and how do they compare with #5? Maybe I'll want to swap out the heads and intake from this one to my 2bb convertible.

The #5's are better or so that's whats been said and they are more desirebale than the 7A's but not by much the 7A's are from 1972 and the A is lower smaller and offset if its for 1972. For stock or near stock engines the difference between the 7A's and the 5's are minimal in the performance dept.

First of all, are they 7A heads, which would be from a 1972 motor, or are they 7A heads from a 1985-1990 roller cam 307?

Joe I didn't know how to make the little big A like that lol. But that's why I asked about the big a being lower and offset a little since there is 7A heads from the 80's

The A is not next to the 7 but spaced away from it. I guess I'll post a picture tomorrow. Either way I assume the # 5 s are still my best bet.

There is no real difference in performance between the 5, 6, 7, or 7a heads. The only difference between them are some had valve rotators and some didn't. That's always been my understanding at least.
