71 cutlass/442 wheel well patch

Does anyone make a sheet metal patch for the outer edge of wheel wells? The only rust i have to deal with on the entire car is the outer inch of three wheel wells. That's it on the entire car. I hate to buy three quarter skins and just use an in or two aroung the whell wells

If you post pics of the area i think we can all guide you in the right direction. sometimes replacing the quarter is the way to go and sometimes it's worth the effort to fabricate a pacth panel.

If its a small area... I had a friend restoring a 1972 Cutlass convertible. He had rot around the wheel well lip and I gave him a front fender to cut up. I don't know how much of it they used but his body shop turn out a product that look nice and correct.

EVERYONE sells the partial quarters. No one sells just the wheel opening lip.

make sure they are not loaded up with filler. If that is the case looks like a pretty much straight forward repair keep it small and take your time and you should be able to turn out a good product. I do like the fender idea joe mentioned.

Rumor has it that a front fender lip is the same contour as the opposide quarter... I've cut some out of rotten damaged fenders, but not tried to work them in (yet)

Are you sure that that is as far as the rust goes? Or just visual. You might want to do a little further inspection before deciding on what approach to take. Once you start grinding or blasting, all sorts of things can pop out at you. If the wheel lips are gone, I would think that there is more that is not seen.

Get yourself some fender flares (to cover up the rust) and fat tires!
