'68 Olds 442 Teal window cranks needed

Hi everyone,

Looking for two really nice window cranks for my '68 442 convertible with Teal interior. Need one for the driver's window and another for the rear window. The two I'm currently using are black. The other ***** I have on the car are either Teal or blue and are super nice condition. I am assuming my blue/teal ones are probably faded since it is a convertible and the interior is original. Not sure what color ***** GM used on Teal interior.

I don't know if I've ever seen teal ***** on a 68. Can you post a pic of one.

Unfortunately I can't attach a pic. The car is stored right now and we just had a big winter storm here. The ***** could be blue... They are not a dark blue/teal, more of a medium tone.

Great... Thank you for the confirming that Teal ***** actually existed. Now all I have to do is find two for my car or try painting the two I have. Spring Carlisle Swap Meet is coming soon. I guess I will be hunting out there.

I have not ever seen a 68 with teal *****, white and black only. Pictures would be great as well as the build plant and production date of the car. How many ridges do you count on your teal *****?

Edit...and silver and blue, but not teal? So just how many colors were offered on the color palate in the 68 Cutlass line

68 blue on my cutlass ragtop

68 teal on my 68 tempest..low mile..you can see everything is changing colors from time..but the ***** are teal or turquois or aqua what ever you want to call them...ive seen many teal window cranks in the past...now i need 2 and are incredibly hard to find...i have my front door apart...all of them match as far as the ridges..and theres 2 patterns in 68

ive also seen some 68 teal interiors with neutral *****, they are grey, or gray or beige looking

My understanding is the ridges like these are leftovers from the 67 model year for A-body Oldsmobile. The later production 68 Olds have the smaller ridges with more of them. What's the build date of this car and what plant was it manufactured in?

Not 67 left overs..early 68..theres 2 types in 68..large ribs and small

doesnt mean first month of 68 didnt get left over 67 *****..but in 40 years, ive never pulled 67 ***** out of a 68..and i literally have sold 1000s of them..

67 looks similar but the **** is more flat..and i have a 67 white one..when i figure out whats wrong with my photo bucket i will post that pic..

They also had gold, as my buddy has them in his '68 442 with the willow gold interior. He needs a couple to replace two that have faded.

Thanks Marx,
Thats the hard evidence Ive/we've been looking for. The left over 67s used in early 68 was a long time misconception that was reported many times, me included. So yes there is a 68 early and late design.
Yellowstatue...thanks for that clarification on the color match to the interior theme.

Snapped a couple of photos of my 67 and 68 cranks over the weekend, for comparison. Note the differences in the lever as well as the ****. 67 on the right in both photos.

'68 had two 'blues'. Light blue (teal) and darker blue (but not as dark as '69 blue) and can be confused with turquoise (aqua) when it is dirty.

teal is blue on the green side..

there are 2 blues in 68 light and dark..so theres 3 shades of blue in 68

theres 2 shades in my post..light blue commonly known as 68 blue and teal blue/green really called aqua, i believe, and then Darren posted 68 dark blue..at leas thats what they look like..

when i get home on friday, i will post a pic of all 3 next to each other...plus the neutral, ivy gold etc etc..and show some detail on ***** too

Yes... Please do! Would love to see the differences. And I agree, I fear the ones Darren has may be the darker blue. Look forward to seeing your picture of the different colors.

Darren, I checked... the orig ones I have a lighter in color and match the door panels. I think yours may be dark for my interior. But I will keep them in mind. I will be at Spring Carlisle swap meet in a few weeks. Will see what I can find out there. Thank you so much for the pics. Definitely gives me something to think about.

I so appreciate your help on the Darren. We are hoping to pull our car out into the sunlight (if we ever see it here in NJ) to get a better idea of what frickn' color we actually have. Hard to tell in the garage.

Forgot to ask, would you happen to have the blue plastic bag/pouch that the owners manual etc. came in to keep in the glove box?
