65 442 frame

So I’ve read up on 442 bro.com about the differences in the frames on 65’s but my question is what is the metal any thicker on this frame they don’t discuss the thickness? Thanks Brandon

Brandon, I've got a frame I pulled out from under a 1965 F85 manual transmission car, which is the same as a 442 frame. I don't think it used any thicker steel except for the gussets added to the front crossmember. But if nobody can confirm this I also have a 1964 frame from an automatic transmission car that's bare. I could measure the thickness of the two.

thanks john that would be great because ive been looking for a frame for my 65 cutlass and all the ones i find out here are thin as can be, but, i just pic a 65 442 and the frame seems so much thicker compared to all the cutlass frames i have found. out here. it might just be that this car was garaged for more of its life.

Brandon, I measured the side frame rails just under the doors and between the rear axle and bumper, then the front ear behind the front bumper. All these locations were the same and its about 2/10 of an inch thick.

Thanks John must be all the rust on the other frames and make them feel thinner.
