We're looking forward to seeing all you Olds people!
It is a scramble for us in New England also as the time approaches. It's amazing how many people send their registrations in AFTER the deadline
It's been tropically warm here lately but it's supposed to rain on and off all next week. Let's hope that clears it out for the following week
Oh crap, I still have to clean the car...........

I will be there with the blue Delta in my signature pic (2-tone).

I have been to the last 2 Nationals, and never thought of trying to find people from the forum that were there. I should make a point of it this year.

We'll have the '92 Custom Cruiser on the Show Field (probably parked by Pat Yancey's, again). I'll have a neck thingie w/the NTOC/OCA longivity membership buttons pinned on it, and probabaly be wearing my new USAF ball cap w/the Security Service Badge above the USAF logo. Juju, of course, is the quiet one in our Family, not extroverted at all (Hmm?). Hope to see everyone from the CO there; perhaps we can hoist one at the bar on the property one evening. We are attending the Wednesday night welcoming, the Thursday bus ride to Boston, and the Saturday awards dinner. Without a doubt, will be in and out of the swap meet, and will be by the CC on Friday judging day. Glen, you getting hypertension and hyperventilating yet????? It's going to be a great show. Can't wait.

No, I just drink and shake more than normal Hope I'm still sane in another week
Things are going well and we still have over 400 cars on the showfield even with some late cancellations.
I checked our lay-out and yes Aron, you're right next to Pat Yancy.

There are no stupid questions
I've been surprised by the number of people I've heard from who didn't even know that there were Oldsmolbile clubs
The Nationals are always open to the public and (so far anyway) there is always a swap meet.
Come on down

In my experience, I've had better luck with Fusicks. Of course it depends on just what you're buying. All in all, Fusicks is a bit cheaper and better quality in my opinion.(Buy your rubber from Restoration Specialties...eg. weatherstripping.)

WTony, that's great that you got a room!
Like I said before, keep calling the Host Hotel as things change daily.
The ten day weather outlook is fantastic for next week.
Keep your fingers crossed and your Olds clean
Lots of people calling asking about admission. The show is open to the public but we suggest using our free shuttle service from Old Sturbridge to avoid parking issues.

Pete,
Good information about the hotel. So far, no problems whatsover with them. As a matter of fact, a couple of other car clubs will be there to observe and learn for their own events.
Can't wait

Is there a particular day for the swap meet? I'd be interested in showing up as a spectator just to try and find a few parts for my Olds that I can't find at the local scrap yards. My these Olds engines are getting harder to come by every year

I can't afford to be a participant, plus my Olds is wrapped in a Buick body

Looking forward to it, Glen. Good luck and thanks in advance for all your hard work. I'll be driving up I-78 to I-84 on Wednesday, planning to arrive in time for the welcome reception. The 62 will be on a trailer behind my crewcab dually, so honk if you see us.

I took the 62 for a 25 mile shakedown run this morning - no major problems. The steering box pitman shaft bushing is worn - oh well, that's not going to be fixed between here and Sturbridge! The master cylinder is a little iffy also - pedal starts to drop if you hold the brakes for a long period of time at a light. NAPA lists the M/C rebuild kit; whether or not I can actually get one tomorrow remains to be seen. The exhaust tone is a little agricultural at part throttle, but it sounds REALLY nice when you get on it.

I did the brakes on the dually yesterday, now I just need to fix the A/C in the truck and repack the wheel bearings on the trailer....

It never ends.

Strange noise in the wagon....FIXED! There was a knocking sound that was intermitten when I first started it up but settled down after the idle smoothed out. Had the valve covers off, changed the oil looking for metal, checked the exhaust for it hitting, nothin.
I finally got a thought that popped into my head out of a sound sleep around 3am. Converter bolts were loose allowing it to move ever so slightly causing a knocking sound. WHEW! I was just about to leave it home. Whodathunkit?
See you all Tuesday afternoon!

Tony,

Check your bellhousing to block bolts also. I've had them come loose, leading to the loose converter bolts, and ultimately to a cracked flexplate.

2950 miles. Arrived minus a trailer license plate and trailer taillight lens, both victims of the fine paving on the roads. Olds was nice and clean when I left, but it now has a few cleanliness "issues" for me to deal with, lol.
It's just a short trip if it is under 3000 miles.

Just under a 3 hour trip for me.
First my cell phone charger (automotive kind), BREAK inside my phone (GRrrr), then the clutch on my a/c compressor freezes up (it was smoking really bad).

It's about eight hours for us. I've got the A/C on the truck fixed, the trailer wheel bearings adjusted, and I'm now taking a break from the heat before loading the car and all my tools (hey, you never know!). Plan to be there for the welcome reception.
