1969 Cutlass Carb linkage Sleeve and Grommet?

My dad called me up today to see if I can find him a Sleeve and Grommet for his 69 Cutlass. Seem to have a hard time locating one,But I seen a few im just not sure if its the right one or not.
I was wondering if someone might be able to help,This is one I found.

These seems to be just what he's looking for but it says up to a 67 cutlass,I also seen these for a camaro, chevelle and they all seem to be the same part,I was just wondering if anyone knows if this will work or not?

If not any idea on where to get one? Thanks!

I know for fact that the carb/engine is not original. I will see him this weekend and take a look for myself, but from what I cant tell this is exactly what he described to me.

Does the set up change from 67 to 69?
Is there a part that you know of that would be correct for his year,Or was these just done away with and must be upgraded to a different throttle linkage set up all together?
I just cant find anything for 1969 year.

I believe Super Cars Unlimited has the rubber grommet. Any hardware store carries teflon sleeves in many sizes that could be modified easily if needed.

Any kind of linkage grommet or cable attachment is generally available at your local parts store.

Ok I seen it today,Its not like the one in the link above "someone already said that though" This looks just like a plastic type bushing/grommet only that fits in the throttle linkage hole and then snaps onto the peg on the carb. Here is some pics,,best I could get anyway.

You think these are common and could be found just at a local part store? I know he went to a local one near him and they couldnt find it,they told him the actual part wasnt made anymore and he could just order the entire cable set up,,but they said they dont think that plastic grommet part dont come with the new set up so it wouldnt help anyway.

I'll hit up some stores tomorrow and ask around, but if you replaced one of these, please let me know a part number or where you might have found it,Thanks!

The carb-to-throttle cable-end is different on your carb VS. an original Rochester 4 bbl setup so the original factory type setup probably won't work for you.

On yours, there also doesn't appear to be anything really holding the cable/grommet end onto the post on the carb other than it just pushing on over the rounded post. And if it fits on there tightly (to stay in place) then you may have an issue with the throttle cable-grommet end binding up on that mounting post.

If you needed the complete setup for a Rochester 4 bbl I can provide everything required but it looks like you're relegated to finding something "that works" on that Weber/Carter type carb setup.

I think the factory 69 cable link to carburator attachment is the ball type that's pictured so a replacement accelerator cable might work?

The cable end in the pic is not made for a "ball type" connection....it's made for a "slip over a shaft" type connection typical on an Olds. There is a cable end used on some Buicks from the era that "snaps" over the ball type carb hookups but the cable end in the pic isn't one of them.

That ball and stud arrangement you have on your carb is incorrect. Just remove it and replace it with the proper shaft type pin that goes with your grommet set up. The pin would have a C clip type retainer or possibly a hitch pin type retainer. You need something that positively holds the throttle cable to the linkage
