1964 Olds Jetstar 88 Factory 4sp on floor

Hi I have a 1964 Olds Jetstar 88 with a factory installed original 4 speed on the floor. My dad was the original owner. The car is in very good condition, needs a little tlc (seats, upholstery) I was wondering if anyone has heard/seen of any other 4 speeds, I believe it is very rare, and what is it worth? Thanks

I am aware of a red '64 4 speed coupe with a white painted top and white interior, sold last year I think out of PA, and also I know a local guy with a 4 speed J88 4 door (cannot recall if it was a hardtop or not, haven't seen it in a couple years). I also recall a guy some years back who had parted out a '64 J88 convertible; I bought the swing pedals and z-bar from that car off Ebay, but later sold them. Trans was for sale too, weird looking thing as i recall.

Welcome. Yes, it was an available but pretty rare option on the 1964 J88s.

Oh I'd say its still quite rare, rare enough that if someone were actively looking to buy one, they might wait YEARS to find one available for sale.

From a previous conversation with Kurt, I believe he's researched that 230 Jetstar 88 hardtop coupess were built with the M20 4-speed. All were 330 cars.

Considering that the 330 was the only engine offered in the J88 in 1964...

True, but the list I was reading from also included the Jetstar I, which had a 394 and didn't have a 4-speed available.

Looking at the factory specs, it's interesting to see a 4-barrel 330 wasn't available in anything other than the B-bodies.

Your spec book is much different than mine.

The 1964 Product Selling Information manual explicitly shows the 290 horsepower 330 engine with 10.25 CR and 4-barrel carb was STANDARD in the Cutlass and OPTIONAL in the F85 Deluxe and Standard. The F85 Deluxe and Standard cars carried the 230 horsepower 9:1 2-barrel 330 as standard equipment except on the V6 Sports Coupe.

The 1964 CSM backs this up.
