Stumbled across this older thread as I was researching Olds machinery for hobbyist Roadracing. I currently run a '03 Corvette Z06 and notice the lack of Buick, Olds and Pontiac participants. Got me wondering what it would take (besides a significant amount of cash) to build a high reving small block Olds that could survive a track day of 3 or 4 sessions lasting 15 to 20 min at the 3000 to 6000 RPM range. A mid '80s Cutlass would be a good platform as there is a large amount of suspension and brake upgrades for the G-body. Any engine builders have any suggestions?https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/general-discussion-33/olds-nascar-149936/

The Carter mechanical fuel pump won't keep up with my new 358. I went to use an old Holley that I don't think I ever used. The 63 psi 350 LPH in tank pump pushed it to 15 psi on the lowest setting. Looking for good regulator that doesn't cost a fortune. Thanks in advance. Here is how I set up the 20 year old Holley regulator.
Still modifying the brackets for the coils, but it runs REALLY well. This crank will transform a 330 the same way it does a 350!

What roller rockers are correct for "Olds" heads, and how do you tell the difference (dimensions, specs, etc...)? This as opposed to the rockers based on or meant for Ford applications that are "close". What are the effects of using the Ford version vs one designed for Olds geometry. Are the effects only noticed for large-lift applications? Does the head (aka aftermarket heads (particularly the new Edelbrock 61035 heads) vs stock #5s) make a difference?

I have a 455 my father built many years ago and was never run. I recently installed in my vista fired up and broke in cam. Valve train was a little noisy so i pulled valve covers. Thinking flat cam lobe all look fine but all of them have very little preload. It appears to have the comp cams roller rockers in it .Pushrod are 9.65 The problem is i cant get but 10 thousands preload before jam nut bottoms out on treads .This has 7/16 thread in head and 3/8 stud .I checked pushrod length and rocker is running right in center of valve. Cant seem to find shorter studs that size. This is on G heads. Any suggestion are appreciated.
