I've had my 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 2 door hardtop for awhile and it has always had a cracked passenger door glass. I final bought a replacement glass from Autocityglass. I've not had a chance to install it yet but it does look like it would fit, based on sitting it next to the old glass. The glass replacement piece is narrower at the front and wider at the back which seems to follow the lines of the door. My question is, is the glass channel angled also inside the door to hold this angled piece? I'm not sure how soon I can get to replacing this and I don't want to wait too long in case it is not the correct piece. Thanks.
I think they should be the same. Motors are basically the same, one is just 2 cyl. longer.

Hi all,

Thanks for your prior help...found the dipstick and the new electric fuel pump is working fine - no carb leaks.

I was able to get a new tire/tube/liner on a split rim with a lot of elbow grease, pain and cussing... Are there one piece wheels that will directly replace the original wheels? I have brand new 4.75-5.00-20 tires and inner tubes, but would like to have a more "modern" wheel that is one piece, looks like an original and I don't have to use the "widow maker" to remove/install.

Thanks!!!
Bob

Good morning, I hope someone on this forum can help. I replaced the rear engine mounts because I could see they were cracked. With the front engine mount (two pieces), I can see the top of the mount, but it hides the lower mount. I need help in the following way:

Is there a way to visually check the mount? From the little I can see, the upper mount is not metal to metal and the distance from its front edge to the cross member is between 1/16" and 1/8".

Is there a way to physically test the mount?

Should I just assume its bad and replace it?

If I replace it, Fusick has the lower mount and suggests re-using the upper mount. I think both the upper and lower mounts have vulcanized rubber sections. Other suppliers offer both the upper and lower mounts. Should I replace both or is that unnecessary?

With a new mount, what is the distance between the front edge of the upper mount and the cross member?

Thanks much, David

Hi all,

I just installed a new electric fuel pump on the '27 Olds Landau. The pressure must be too high, as it is pushing gas out of the back of the carburetor. There is no way to decrease the pressure that I can see at the pump, so what are you using to decrease the pressure between the pump and the carburetor? Old pump was an Autopulse 500.

Thanks!!
Bob
