Hey guys, I have an 82 Oldsmobile 98 with the 307 engine and a Rochester quadrajet, the earlier mechanical version, not the electronic feedback carburetor. The first start of the day can be an adventure with my car: if the temperature is below 0° c (32 Fahrenheit) the usual starting procedure which is to push the gas pedal down to the floor and release it works very well, with the engine on high idle and then I can step it down easily as it warms up. When the outside temperature is above 15° c, I don't have to touch the pedal at all the engine starts and runs at normal idle. The big issue is in between 0 Celsius and 10° Celsius. I push the pedal down and release. The engine starts and immediately dies, then I have to go through a whole process of pumping the pedal, waiting and cranking until the engine finally starts to catch. If I don't touch the pedal, the engine won't catch at all. Is there something wrong with my carburetor or is this just a peculiarity of this type of carb? Is there anything I can do in those spring and fall weather days to get the engine to start without going through a whole process of pumping and cranking?

Assuming it's a ground issue but here's what I'm working with. 1970 Cutlass Supreme. Installed a new light harness. Removed the old harness and noticed that two of the four ground wires were grounded to the front bumper brackets. My other cars all have the grounds going to the core support - two wires grounded on each side of the core support versus one to the core support on each side and one to the front bumper bracket. Is it possible that there is a ground issue and it would be impacting the rear lights? The rear brake lights work without issue - just not the tail lights themselves at night.

I have a set of N 93 wheels and caps. I’ve had the rims refinished and they turned out very nice and the center caps are in nice shape too. The aluminum or magnesium center sections are heavily oxidized and I wanna have them restored to original.
I am trying to find a picture of what the original factory disc look like so I can take to the restoration shop. Does anyone have a picture of OEM disc or nowhere where I can find a picture.
I’m gonna try and attach a picture. Mike L.

Hey Gang!

I want to tighten up the rear suspension in my 1964 Ninety Eight. I am looking for some bushing options.
I have checked all of my usual parts sources with negative results.
I've done some searching on this forum, and haven't found a clear answer.

So, here goes (...Charlie and Joe, I'm looking in your direction...)
Does anyone carry a set of rear suspension bushings for the Ninety Eight? If so, who?
If not, is there a set that crosses over from another car (ie. Chev/Buick/Caddilac)?

I don't really want to resort to a custom setup (ie. Hotchkis). This is a cruiser, not a pro-tourer or track car.

Any direction would be great

Thanks!

I have some questions on the installation of power windows in my 1970 442. I believe 71 is the same. My car is coming apart so now is the time. All convertibles deserve power windows. I purchased a nice set from a member here. I was cleaning and re taping the harness. The set is from a 71 or 72 I bet because of the style of door switches. Strangely enough I am just finishing up installing a set friends 72. With a 70 there is a circuit breaker on the firewall near the master cylinder. A wire comes through the grommet and attaches to a stud. 72 does not have this. The major question is where do the thick orange with black stripe which I think is main power go? There is a pink wire as well. On 72 these both snap into the fuse box. 🗃️ the assembly manual does not really show where these go in 70-71. There is also a relay behind drivers kick panel. American Auto wire shows 70-72 harness is the same? Anyone have any experience with this. I’ll include pictures.
