Intermittent TEMP Idiot Light

Intermittent TEMP Idiot Light
I can't keep my TEMP idiot light working. I replaced the bulb - and it worked for a short time. I replaced the bulb and the plastic holder the bulb mounts in - and it worked again briefly. (The bulbs I removed appear to be OK).
My guess is that the bulb holder is not making good contact with the thing it screws in to - which on my 1968 is a printed circuit board - I think. It only screws in 1/4 turn more or less.
My next try will be to get the light working again and install a jumper so that the light is always on - then drive around and see when it turns off.
I already installed a temperature gauge, so I don't really need the light. But I am annoyed that it does not work.
Has anyone run in to this problem before - and what did you do to fix it? Is there any way to improve the connection without taking a lot of things apart?
