Headlights, high and low beam issue

Ok so its raining here today so i haven't had a chance to take a look yet but last night I hit the high beams and just on the left side my low beam light went out. So basically only one beam was working on the left and both were lit up on the right. I've got a 71 cutlass, now these aren't the original lights but .... does this sound like a dimmer switch or do I have a issue in the left side light somewhere??? any ideas
Thanks

Scott

Sounds like a issue in left side since the wiring connects to both high beam elements in the light assemblys. Probably either the connector on the low beam light or the bulb it self. The light green should have power when high beams are on. Tan is the low beam.

If the lows work, then it sounds like that left bulb is burned out. The outer bulbs have two filaments, one for low, one for high. The inners have only one filament - high.

could be the bulb, also check the grounds that attach to the core support. I had once come loose once and the high beams acted funny.

If the low beam bulb is lit with the dimmer on low beam and off with the dimmer on high beam, replace the bulb, it has one filament burned out.

thanks guys got it working, still not 100% what i did but a little wiggle and there it was, after that i couldn't get it to not work again so must have been a bad ground or connection on that bulb, WEIRD...... Thanks though
