Hi I just replaced my battery on my 442 and now the horn just clicks, but not horn sound. Probably just the horn relay. Any ideas on what happened?

Did you disturb the wiring in front of the battery near the radiator support?

I may have it was a tight fit. I cannot see in front of the battery as it slips under it. I take it I should remove the battery and shine a flashlight there? Not sure where you are referring. Thank you for replying.

If you hear a click that's the relay...I would double-check the wiring going to the horns.

I see what happened. Some of the jostling knocked off a lost connection at the horn itself. It barely is holding on there. Wow with the new battery, the horn is pretty loud! Is that normal or should I tone it down.

By the way, they sold me these circular pads to go on the terminals. Do they work much? Thanks guys.

Normal, leave it alone you probably had a bad connection for a while and the battery install did it in.

The pads do work...I have them on my daily driver and have yet to deal with corrosion or acid buildup...and I put the battery in over 2 years ago.

I'm not big on the pads. As the battery gases out, which is normal, the pads act like little sponges collecting moisture and acid which leads to corrosion. At least that's my experience with them.
