AMP rating for seat and window motors

Dear friends,

This is for 1987 Custom Cruiser.
I am looking to replace the front seat adjustment motor switches (opened and too difficult to adjust without making them to arc upon contacting) and get new power window switches (non original)

Can anybody tell me how much current (AMPs) these motors can take?

Thank you

Look at the amp rating of the fuse or curcuit breaker for those circuits. That should give you an idea what they draw.

And be sure to wire them through a relay. Relays will take more amps than a regular switch.

Apparently they are powered by a 30A fuse but it is common to few other circuits too. However, for six motors to be powered both ways, need 12 relays altogether

Window Motor Current Draw

Kuseetha:
I have bench tested motors like these and they draw 4.6 amps with no load, i.e no glass attached.

Thank you Rodney.

Biggest concern is the load of course. Weight of the glass and possible aging of glass rubbers add more load. Power seats is also a similar case. My objective is to find suitably power rated switches that will service without any problem. Last resort would be relays of course.
