Electronic distributor

Need to know the procedure for installing electronic distributor and that 350 rocket motor

It all depends on which electronic distributor your installing. Can you give us some additional info like a make and part number?

yes. Coil built into distributor. 1972 cutlass

All you need to do is take the 2 wires that fed the original points distributor, sperate the, cap them off individually and tape them to the original harness. Then run a 12ga wire from the IGN spade terminal in the fuse block to the HEI distributor BAT terminal on the distributor cap. If you have a tach, it connects to the terminal next to it. Wire spark plugs with #1 cylinder at TDC on the compression stroke, then set your timing to 16 BTDC to start. Hook your vac advance can to manifold vacuum, then set your idle and a/f mixture.

72 Olds 350 Rocket #1 cylinder at top dead center when HEI distribytor is installed where should rotor cap be aligned with?
I am asking these questions for my husband. Since you have so much knowledge on this car, do you have a number he could contact you at.
