Darn tail lights

Here’s my issue. I have a 72 cutlass vert. My left side tail lights worked, but my right side didn’t. I looked to change the bulbs on right side and saw that they were rotted out. So i got new light socket pigtail and wired them. Soon as buttoned everything back up, my left side continued to work and right side still didn’t. I figured something was crossed so I started over. I rewired the sockets and now my right side works when turn signal is activated and left side doesn’t. No brake lights work nor do they stay on when I will the swith. I am lost for words and feel like I am chasing my tail in a circle lol.

Is there a trouble guide somewhere! Is this a ground issue. Totally pissed owner right now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check your ground. It sounds like you have an open circuit after finishing your work.

Do you have running lights? Have you checked the fuse?

I got running lights. Both front and tail are working. It’s odd as hell.

Get this.....I went around the bumper to check the screws and one was loose. While that one was loose, the right turns worked but no running lights. When I tightened the screw up, running lights, but no turns or brake lights. Puzzled as hell I tell you

Make sure the lamps are in contact with the contacts in the socket.
