headlight switch

Yes, follow the directions in the chassis service manual. There are no shortcuts. The switch comes out from behind the dash, so you will have to reach up from underneath to get at it. The "spring-loaded button" mentioned is behind the dash.
From the '68 Chassis Service Manual for the A-body lines.
Don't know if your car has A/C, so here's the figure mentioned.
Location of the spring-loaded buttom (on the bottom of the switch).

headlight issue
So I got the new headlight switch in, but I'm still having the same issue with my headlights not coming on...I got parking lights and a strange clicking noise coming from under the dash.
Is there a relay, or is it possible that the high/low beam switch is holding it out ? never saw this problem before.

Troubleshooting is a good idea before buying and replacing parts...
There is no headlight relay. There is a self-resetting circuit breaker built into the switch, but I've never heard it make a noise.
Disconnect the three wire connector from the dimmer switch. Pull the headlight switch on. Test for power at the blue wire in the connector. If you get 12V, the headlight switch is fine.
Turn off the headlight switch, run a jumper from the blue wire in the connector to the tan wire. Turn on the switch and see if the low beams come on. Repeat, jumpering from blue to green, and see if the high beams come on.
