Correct voltage regulator number for 72 supreme
Hi! I have 3 or 4 original metal voltage regulators in a box with numbers stamped on the sides (I don't have them I front of me but I can look and post when I get home). Anyone know the proper number for a 72 350 with ac? Would the proper one depend on the alternator as well? Thanks!

Thank you yellowstatue for your reply! So one of the parts cars I parted had the rear defroster (grid lines) and 63 amp alternator. If I use the voltage regulator from that setup with the standard 55 (?) amp alternator will that have any repercussions? Or do I need to make sure the voltage regulator matches the alternator output?
Thanks!

Ok. the 63 amp was from a 34000 mile car, but I'm assuming I should probably have it rebuilt? I haven't installed it as I had the 55 amp alternator rebuilt 20 years ago and running on my car before I started the resto in 2011. Do voltage regulators often go bad? Do they need to be rebuilt if they are original?
