What color are the neutral safety switch wires??
Ran into another electrical issue. Yesterday I put a radio in the dash, now the car wont start, not even a click. The headlights don't dim when turning the key, the battery is fully charged. The only thing I can figure is I must have accidently unhooked the neutral safety switch. So, what color are the wires for the neutral safety switch??
BTW, I ordered a service manual for the car but don't have it yet.
Where do the wires plug in??

The neutral safety switch is at the bottom of the steering column, near the firewall inside the passenger compartment. Here's a picture from the side on a 1967 Cutlass. It doesn't show up on the photo, but the purple wires also plug into the switch. John

Did you try starting in neutral as well as park? There is nothing around the radio that would impact the starter or the neutral safety switch. If you haven't moved the car since the radio install it's possible you leaned against the shift lever hard enough to move the linkage out of the "safety" range of the switch. Keep your foot on the brake pedal and move the shifter through its range of motion and see if the starter engages.

I got one of those big wiring diagrams and it is colored. I'm not in the shop but me thinks it's Classic Autowire. I put it in a frame. It goes on the wall, in a place where I can take it on and off to refer to it. This is the only way to go. It's big. And yes those wires are purple and they are purple in the console also. Go get 'em!!!
BTW: Petronix supplied info with their flame thrower coil that tells you to put two diodes in line from the coil to the tach. I got the correct ones, installed them and the tach(original Olds tach on the console) does work and it is accurate; verified by a laser tach off of the balancer.
