Basic Keyless Entry

Looking to add keyless entry to my 85 Olds Delta 88 Royale Brougham. The more basic, the better. I absolutely do not want an alarm, they annoy the 💩💩💩 out of me. The smaller the remote, the better. I think even the average keyless remote is excessively bulky.

So I'm curious what's out there, in this, the year 2017. Any new kits on the market, nice and basic, compact remotes? Looking forward to getting some opinions. Thank you.

The easiest, cheapest way to do this is to simply harvest the Remote Keyless Entry module from a late-90s Chevy/GMC truck (pickup, Suburban, etc). Here's the wiring diargram of the RKE module in the upper RH corner. Leave pints B and F unconnected. Route the lock signal to the same wire as the lock output from your switches. Route the unlock signal to the same wire as the unlock outpur from your switches. Get a replacement remote and program to match the receiver. No alarm, no BS, and very inexpensive.

That sounds like a pretty decent option. Are there any install guides out there, that might show me where these connections are physically located in the car?

Also curious if I can program it with an aftermarket remote, or a later GM remote.

The module is located under the center of the instrument panel on the 1995-1998 CK trucks and SUVs. I'm not sure about compatibility with other remotes. Installation (well, wiring) is as I described above.
