87 Olds Fuel Sender Resistance Direction

Dear friends,

Just a small question.
When I connect my multi tester probes between the sender body and the circled connector at the picture, it shows resistance and changes when the floater moves up or down.

Should the resistance go up when the tank fills in (float moves up)? Or the other way round?

The resistance goes higher as the float moves up. Should be approx 0-90 ohm, 0 empty - 90 full.
