Correct windshield atenna ?

Correct windshield atenna ?

68 442,
Is this the right one?
The wire off the windshield is that short, won't extend any farther, can the connection float or should it be grounded?

It looks about right, it grounds through antenna cable screws.

You do realize that 68s didn't use the windshield antenna, right? Having said that, I've actually done this swap on a 68. You need to cut the hole in the cowl panel below the antenna connector where that input cable bolts down. 1970-72 cars had it from the factory. Yes, the coax cable connector wants to be grounded. The parts you have are correct.
