Wiring woes
Hello all I inherited a little bit of a problem. I am restoring a 69 442 vert with a 4 spd, 400 engine. I added an electronic ignition but what I am having trouble with is identifying some of the wires coming from the firewall. I know the purple goes to the starter but there is a yellow that is hot with 12v nd a brown that also has 12v when measured. Can anyone tell me what these two wires would be for?
Thanks in advance

Looks like brown is for the the ACC position....yellow might be from "starter solenoid to ignition coil" wire, but you wouldn't be seeing it under the dash

Nice wire diagram Stargeneral! The one I have is a littler blurred, this will help
I replaced the points with the electronic ignition inside the distributor.
The wires I am talking about are in the engine bay and are coming from the firewall. With that said the dark yellow wire and the brown read 12 volts but I do not know what they are for?

Well, according the the diagram, looking at wires that would show 12V with the ignition ON, the yellow would be for your windshield wipers, and the brown would be for your ALT light.
