Fuel sending unit ground

Fuel sending unit ground
I do not see where the fuel sending unit ground wire attaches to the unit itself. Me thinks it may have been corroded and broken off.
If that's the case, anybody got any ideas?

Hmmmm, therefore your gauge is nada, no-function i.e. no longer with us??
The sender is likely self-grounding as hookem mentions. Are you solving for a gauge issue or just a general question? You should read variable resistance from the sender output pin to ground. It's just a float operated, variable resistor varying ohm values to the gauge as the float moves. If the needle goes to max, usually the send wire is open.

I know that all electric guages are just analog meters that measure variable resistance to ground. I just see no output pin or spade connector for the ground.
Ground the wire from the guage, goes to zero. Try grounding the fuel line nipple or the sender body and not working. Guess I pull it and see whats happening.
Now where the heck did I put that new lock ring and seal?
Who has the M.A.W. helmet? I need it to resist replacing the gas tank.
