Dash pod source wire

I have a 65 442 that I'm converting to a 2004r transmission I'm also replacing the stock carburator linkage. On the old linkage there was a dash pod and there is a orange wire from the wiring loom that ran to it which I will not be using now. I'm wondering if it is a constant 12v source when the ignition is on that I could use for my electric choke on the carburator. Has anyone had any experiance with using that?

I would suggest wiring the electric choke this way:
