Correct way to route positive starter cable on 1968 442
Wondering if someone could help me with the correct Routing of the positive cable on a 1968 442 with manual transmission. I know that it routes out the tube at the rear of the engine and down the valve cover over to the battery. My main question is how to route it coming from the starter. I see two options.
1) route the cable below and around behind the z-bat.
2) route the cable in front of and above the z-bar.
Which way is correct. Thanks!

1968-1969 positive cable routing
I got this from the assembly manual. The phenelic tube is available now at a reasonable cost. Fusick has good harness, well worth replace 50 year old crud. The key is to keep the rotating shaft from abrading the cable and not touch the manifold or header. Get a flex sleeve if you do not have one

You also appear to have your starter solenoid wire running through the tube and that isn’t correct either. (See section 12, page 133)
I’m not trying to pick anything apart that you’ve done. I’m just reading the 68 Assembly Manual as I see it. When the battery cable runs over the Z-Bar it contacts it. There’s no way around it. Eventually it’s going to wear through the cable. Also if you look at Section 6-1, page 127 you can see the starter wire under the Z-bar boss.
