1969 power antenna repair
Well I went to raise the mast and the motor turns but the mast does not raise.
There is a clicking sound when operating motor.
There used to be a guy name Ernie, I think he was in Oregon, who restored this unit, but it has been about 10-12years ago.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Mike

I don't know of Ernie but I've only been here a few months. In Hemmings Motor News, I see a Klaus Wojak that rebuild power electric antennas with a one-year guarantee. Looks like he's in North Carolina, phone 828-898-9338. It appears that he has either advertised in HMN, or has been in this business, for 32 years.

Is it a factory antenna from 1969? Or is it an aftermarket replacement? There are not as many options for power antenna repairs or even replacement as there used to be.
A clicking noise could be either a broken mast cable or a broken gear inside. Either one will make it difficult to repair. A broken gear might be found inside a more modern device but a mast cable will have to be adapted from a newer antenna.
