Best supplier 4 top/related stuff/74 88
Got a 74 88 who is the best supplier to get everything to put as new top ion my car. I want the brown top again, similar material, any and all padding it needs, cables, well boot, etc.
I see this place on eBay, Rusty Nutz & Rodz, LLC, anyone else out there?
Once I have it all in hand what should I expect to pay to have it installed?
Would it be cheaper to have a local resto shop to source it all and pout it on?

2 piece top refers to the top cover as one piece and the rear window and curtain as the second piece. These tops are complex to install and most trim shops hate them. Last one I had done, some 20 years ago, set me back a grand. It would pay you to have a 71-76 Fisher Body manual handy to give the trim shop the convertible top section when they do the job.
You don't really need the side hold-down cables; factory installation discontinued it mid-year 1971.
Is the top brown or tan? My experience with colored tops (other than black/white/tan) is that they tend to striate (inner and outer layers separate) at stress points.
You will have the option of a glass rear window or clear plastic. If car has rear defog you will have to replace it with glass. If you get a glass rear window the guide links at the bottom corners HAVE to be in place and connected to keep from shattering the glass if it somehow doesn't stow under the tulip panel as it should. The links actually guide the window underneath that panel when top is lowered.
