'55 Super 88 4dr Windshield R/R
Has anyone removed the front and rear glass from a '55 Olds 88? The front windshield top window molding/chrome, does that come out with the glass or does it need to be removed? I have all of the other molding off except the top.
Thanks,

the back windshield chrome must be removed first, the chrome is bolted to the roof with two screws that you will see on the inside under the window frame gizmo strip thing-a-ma-bob, i pulled on mine and put a nice 90 degree bend in it...not good

'55 Olds Windshield removal..
Reaching back... Open front doors, you'll see screws for side moldings. Remove wiper blades and it's components. Remove the chrome sceens, you will see screws for windshields clip screws(lower chrome). On the inside, remove trim around front glass to expose the rubber washer/seal. The upper chrome molding on the windshield is attached to the Rubber seal. On the inside of the car, using a putty knife, work your way around the glass/seal, starting at the upper corners and at the same time appying pressure outwards/pushing out. 2 person job works best. It's a bitc* and if you want to save the rubber seal, take your time. Any corrections to this procedure is welcome.
