Cool '58 on Barrett Jackson

Did anyone see the '58 - 98on Barrett Jackson? That car was hot! I think it sold for $330,000.00 or so. It was HEAVILY modified with hp ratings in the mid 700 range. A stunningly beautiful car. Tony Stewart thought enough of it to run the money up on it.

Sadly, or perhaps not, I don't visit that place because I could never afford a car from there. It would be like Eric Estrada hanging out at the local college bar every night trying to get lucky, NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!

I saw it sell. It was to radical for the average guy to buy fuel for. 502 inches aluminum World Products engines are worth every dime you pay for them but you would need a 30 lb spring on the throttle to save your tires. The Color skeem was the best I've ever seen on an o"50's" Olds.

Dis anyone see some sorta prototype olds (54 or 55) go 4 8 million, crazzzy...sadly it wasn't the value of the car that made it sell, it was the buyer's ego

The pictures were taken by the Barrett-JacksonCrew and posted before the auction. The Guy bidding was working for the Museum. I just bought a 55 two door hardtop a while back and haven'tdecided what to do with it . It's missing a drivers side fender and most of the trim.

Yeah, those pictures were very professional looking. The ones I saw were of the car in someone's driveway in front of a big house. About your '55, what do you mean about what to do with it? Do you mean hot rod or restore? or do you mean sell or keep?

I don't think the Restoration to original would pay so I was looking at a Caprice to set it on useing the floor and frame. Make a daily driver . I don't have any use for trailer queens but I do like high quality Paint and interior.

You can get your front fender at www.allamericanclassics.com I like the 55 models, Like you, i have no use for trailer queens... If you are going origional for interior you could try sms auto fabrics, and to find paint stuff go to http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ good luck with your project... Keep us uptaded and add some pics for us to see.
